Fully qualified URL

A fully-qualified URL is a URL with either http:// or https:// at the start of it.

URLs are often shown without these prefixes to make them simpler for users. For example, in the address bar of most browsers, you won’t see the http or https prefix:

The prefix matters, however. A web address with https at the front is using SSL, and one with http is not. These are totally different addresses, and entering the wrong one may mean you don’t see anything at all.

In many areas, when you are configuring Silktide, you must provide a fully-qualified URL, to remove any ambiguity over what you mean.
